Sample Interaction: Nerril of Thrushwood

(Note: The people of Reyandraus are known for their unusual way of speaking, switching between what they call Verbosity and Brevity based on context.)

The party leader sees his scout slip back into their camp and rises to greet him. “Nerril, you’re back. Did you see anything?”

“Yes,” the scout quickly replies.

The leader looks at him expectantly. “Go on… ?”

Nerril takes a deep breath. “Ahead of me, a vast expanse of wooden sentries, night’s breath binding them together. A single flicker off-center, tended by one while three more dreamt.”

The party leader exhales and closes his eyes. “So… four men camped in the forest with one keeping watch,” he says flatly.

“Right.”

The leader shakes his head and mutters, “By Atren’s mail, I never should have hired a Reyandraul as a scout.”
